I hate to put on a bad review especially when comes to animsls, but i must be honest. After a very recent experience i am shocked at the extortion and lack of professionalism at this place. £380.00 for a consultation & blood test on a cat in social hours is simply criminal. Never again, we are using a different practice now!!

I’ve recently moved to a different vets after being with Moorview for around 3 years, following a number of ongoing issues. Sadly, we lost our beloved chihuahua boy to heart failure and his passing was made even more difficult by poor communication from the reception staff. Our wishes were not passed on correctly on several occasions, which meant we didn’t receive our boy’s ashes for almost three weeks. We also had problems with another one of our pups, whose skin condition was initially misdiagnosed as sunburn. This led to her needing two ear surgeries instead of one. On top of that, the costs at Moorview are extremely high. Our cat is on lifelong thyroid medication, which is already expensive, but Moorview insisted on adding a blood tests to monitor dosage instead of monitoring based on his weight and overall health. When I explained that I was struggling to afford such frequent tests, they refused to continue prescribing his medication. That was the final straw for me. I’ve since moved to another vet who has been far more understanding, compassionate, and accommodating and I only wish I’d done it sooner.

Think twice before you buy the Vaccines for Life offer. My mother bought it for her two cats, but then unfortunately got cancer and passed away. Moorview then refused to honour it and when I asked if that meant it was vaccines for the owner's life rather than the pet's, I was told pretty much. On top of that, when I brought her two cats in for blood tests while my mother was ill, they needed six vials of blood. Instead of sticking the cat one time and filling six vials, they stuck him six times. The other cat hissed at the vet so they said they couldn't do her blood test. Then they tried to charge me for vaccines under the aforementioned Vaccines for Life programme. I had to back in to get them refunded. In a nutshell, stay away. There are much better options.

Have been using this vets for a number of years for my miniature schnauzers. Have always found their receptionist lovely and helpful, and other professionals considerate of the animals when they are stressed about being seen, such as seeing them in the quieter outer building. The prices are expensive but the same youd get anywhere these days.

Absolutely the worst vets will never go back. We originally used the Backworth Branch when the owner Johnathan operated on our dog. He was amazing and the care second to none. How things have changed now he no longer owns the vets. Fast forward to a few weeks ago we took our dog in who was seen by another vet from the Consultstion and sadly we lost our dog. What has followed can only be described as harassment. 2 days after our dog died despite not receiving a bill we were called to demand payment. We have since been left voicemails and sent emails demanding payment. Today we find our dog has not been sent to be cremated, she’s in the freezer untill we pay the bill we have only just received. I appreciate vets need payment, however it’s standard practice to send a bill. We had organised to pay the bill when we collected our dog but now find she’s stuffed in a freezer ! We are heartbroken and disgusted with Moorview vets who should have told us that payment was required prior to sending our dog to be cremated, they never did they simply stuffed our dog in the freezer

Been to this branch 3 times now in 8 years. The Staff are friendly and welcoming. It's well kept buildings and grounds. With on site parking. I and Daisy do prefer Ashington branch tho.
